Whisky TrailWhisky Distilleries in Scotland are among the most famous and well loved attractions in the Highlands. Here at Dunallan House in Grantown on Spey, we are ideally placed for exploring the only Whisky Trail in the world. With 7 Distilleries and 1 Cooperage all within easy access from Grantown, you can enjoy one of Scotlands oldest traditions, without spending the whole day in the car. Most of the distilleries offer informative and interesting guided tours and some even have free admission! Even where an entry fee is made this is very reasonable ( between £3.50 to £5.00 ). Children are usually welcome on the tours but are not allowed in the production areas. There is something for everyone on the " Whisky Trail " as, by the very nature of its production, distilleries are often in valleys and are beside rivers, so you will enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery that the Highlands has to offer. The opening times of Distilleries vary and some are closed out of season so it is preferable to check the details in advance. Speyside really is the heart of Malt whisky country, with more than half of of Scotland's distilleries here.
